“Youth America Grand Prix”

Rachel Care and Lauren Talley competed in the Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals in Hunting Beach, CA.They performed classical and contemporary solos.
Rachel performed The Sleeping Beauty Pas de Duex partnered by Maximo Califano of Ballet San Jose; the Sugar Plum variation and Dansa Brasileira, choreographed by Eric Hoisington.
Lauren performed the Sugar Plum Pas de Deux, partnered by Maximo Califano, and the Grand Variation from Paquita.
Lauren Tally won 2nd place in the semi-finals senior contemporary division with her piece, Stretch Music, choreographed by Zvi Gotheiner, Director of ZviDance in New York City.
Lauren will proceed to the finals in New York City, April 19th - 23rd . The closing night gala will be held at New York's City Center on April 22nd -23rd . Semi-finalists from Japan, China, and Brazil, as well as from seven other cities in the U.S. will be among the competitors.
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the only student ballet competition in America, which awards scholarships to the leading dance schools in the U.S. and abroad. The competition is held annually in New York City and is open to dance students of all nationalities 9-19 years old.
We are very proud of both Rachel and Lauren and applaud their hard work and dedication.
