Los Gatos Ballet is committed to fostering the love of dance and making it accessible to all age
groups and socio-economic backgrounds. Being a professional quality dance company, we
provide opportunities to enrich the cultural life of our community and to ensure that the art and
love of dance continues in our present and future generations.

It is our mission to serve the community by:

  • Fostering a love of the arts in the local youth through dance and pre-professional performance experiences
  • Providing opportunities for the dancers to develop their artistry, technique and team building skills through performance and choreographic opportunities
  • Serving the underprivileged and elderly by providing discounted and/or free cultural events.
  • Providing Arts Education and Dance-in-Schools programs, bringing dance to underserved schools, as well as providing mentoring opportunities for the students of Los Gatos Ballet.

“Arts education is crucial in developing well-rounded students. In addition to fostering physical
fitness and an active lifestyle, exposure to the study and practice of dance helps students gain
valuable skills in critical thinking and creative problem solving. Through ongoing exposure,
'academic research shows a clear, positive and demonstrable link between involvement in the
arts and students' academic achievement, engagement with learning, motivation, self-esteem,
and the ability to collaborate with others.” (Silicon Valley Community Foundation Arts & Culture
Issue Brief, [2007])”

Because Federal and State funding for arts education has been cut, more support is required
from the private sector. We appeal to you to help fund these essential programs. Your
contribution will help Los Gatos Ballet educate, motivate and inspire the community through the
art and beauty of dance.
